-اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدٰى وَالتُّقٰى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنٰى
Allaahumma innii as’alukal-hudaa wat-tuqaa wal-‘afaafa wal-ghinaa. (‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud. Sahih Muslim #4898)
O Allah, I beg You for guidance, piety, chastity, and contentment.
Ameen
Making this du’aa often, with full understanding, may also be a strong antidote to the hedonistic pop culture, which promotes exactly the opposite values.
This du’aa implies that piety and chastity are linked with contentment and that all three require Divine guidance.
