Du’aa for excellence in worship to Allah Ta’aala

– اَلّٰهُمَّ أَ عِنَّا عَلٰ ذِكْرِكَ وَ شُكْرِكَ وَ حُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ

Allahumma a’innaa ‘alaa dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni ‘ibaadatik. [Abu Hurayrah. Kanz al-‘Ummal #3700; Mu’adh ibn Jabal. Sunan Abi Dawud #1301]

O Allah, help us in Your remembrance, in gratitude to You, and in reaching excellence in Your worship.

Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallem) taught the singular version of this du’aa to Sayyidna Mu’adh ibn Jabal (ra) as a very special gift and advised him to say it after every salaat (Sunan Abi Dawud).
